Healthcare is also a top industry in Oakland, with Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Oakland, and the Alameda Health System employing more than 10,000 people combined. Many hotels, motels, restaurants, museums, theaters, and other destinations constitute some of the top employers in the city, and help contribute to the billion-dollar tourism industry in Oakland.
