Middletown Delaware is a small city in New Castle County. It’s known as the Diamond Town of the Diamond State and is home to the Olde Tyme Peach Festival. The city has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade and is attracting homebuyers from all over the East Coast. Shoppers will find a good selection of three- and four-bedroom homes in several new developments on every side of town.

In the year 2000, Middletown began annexing large areas of land. This has allowed investors to develop the fairly affluent neighborhoods that circle the town. The medium-sized homes lining Frog Hollow Golf Club continue to draw interest from outsiders. Likewise, Willow Grove Mill to the East and Saint Anne’s to the South are excellent neighborhoods for growing families. Lower-priced options can be found throughout the downtown area. Most of these properties were built during the mid 20th century. The city center is also a great place to experience the unexpected vibrance of small-town Delaware. Middletown hosts a variety of charity balls and marathon races as well as its own comical spoof on Philadelphia’s famous Mummer’s Parade. Residents enjoy an excellent school system, including a satellite location for Wilmington University. The town also has two DART stops and is easily accessible from the 301 and 299 highways.

Middletown is becoming a popular relocation destination for residents of Wilmington, Dover and other areas of the state. It’s even drawn a handful of commuters from Baltimore and Philadelphia. For residents who prefer to stay closer to home, the town offers a variety of employment opportunities, namely in the commerce sector. Several national retail and food chain stores have opened up along highway 301, and the town recently established it’s own resident police force. Many residents have secured jobs in one of several public and private schools, while others are employed at the nearby Summit Airport.
