Glenview, Illinois is a suburb that is located on Chicago's northern side, and it's part of what is known as the North Shore, which is a collection of neighboring suburbs situated along the coastline of Lake Michigan. Neighborhoods included in the North Shore are among the most affluent in the Chicago area. As of the 2013 United States Census, Glenview was home to more than 45,400 residents.
Today, Glenview has a very diverse economy that's spearheaded by Kraft Foods, ABT Electronics, and Glenbrook Hospital. The population is equally diverse with virtually all ethnicities and faiths well represented. The area is largely residential, so it doesn't have an overabundance of cultural attractions or family entertainment, but because Glenview is just 19 miles from downtown Chicago, that's not much of a detractor for those who live here. In Glenview, the local parks, wildlife, and outdoor recreation tend to be among the most popular activities. Glenview, IL offers a very good selection of apartments, condominiums, townhouses, and single-family homes, all within eye- or ear-shot of the coast of Lake Michigan. When it comes to settling into a new home, the sights, the safety, and the overall community feel of this Chicago suburb is about as good as it gets.
